This little piggy...

This little piggy went to the patisserie after having thoroughly stuffed herself on chocolate fondue and cocktails.

Just across from The Victoria Room on Victoria Road, Darlinghurst is a lovely little patisserie called 'Strawberry Cream'. They have the most amazing range of French desserts I've ever seen and they are well priced too!

A while back I had been there buying a little something when I noticed they had this gorgeous dessert which was pink, creamy and had raspberries. I made a promise that next time I was in the area I would have to try it! So there I was after cocktails and chocolate fondue...but a promise is a promise...! This pretty sweet thing is a 'Raspberry Cream Macaroon'. (Chantilly cream with raspberries sandwiched between two large raspberry-flavoured macaroon shells).

I was lucky - there was only 1 left! It was meant to be. I carried the precious thing all the way home. I decided to just try a little of it and save the rest for later. So I ate the cream off the top and had the top macaroon shell - de-lic-i-ous! Sweet, sugary and delicious. The macaroon was well made with a crisp shell and a chewy inside.
This morning I had the rest - probably best eaten on the day it was made but it still tasted wonderful. The raspberries were fresh not frozen and they went so well with the Chantilly cream.

I am giving this sweet treat a 10/10.
It was so pretty to look at and tasted delicious. I will definitely be back for more!
